Pistols Firing!! The fastest pup in the west is ready to find his forever family! Pistol Pete or Petey is a young, small Schnauzer who is very true to breed characteristics. He was rescued from the shelter and came in as stray. Pistol Pete has one speed - lightening. He loves to run and run and run - a fenced backyard is mandatory for this guy. As with most strays, he has the instinct to run and it is exhausting trying to catch him so anything outside of a fenced backyard will require holding him or leashing him. Petey arrived extremely matted and came to us completely shaved - the only remaining hair was on his legs from the knees down and his moustache. He appeared to be wearing boots and sported a great stache, which is how he acquired his name. He is very fun, loves to play as much as he loves to be held. He gets along great with his foster sisters and while he plays with our 44.4 lb dog, he is fearful of bigger dogs. He would do great in an active home, fine with children, other medium sized or smaller dogs, crate trained, just about potty trained and loves Cheerios. He has worked very hard to overcome the habits he acquired from being on his own and will do best with someone who is familiar with the Schnauzer breed. He still has some work to do and responds best to positive reinforcement and firm yet calm tones of voice. He has been loved back to great health and as thankful as he is, even more so, he lives in every moment. He will be comfy in his own fur when his grows back! He will require some time to adjust to his new environment and will need someone with patience and time. He is opinionated, vocal, bossy, endearing, playful, manipulative (but in a good way), funny, spirited, demanding, loves attention, is very active and has the ability to steal hearts right away. Happy to be by your side, this little pistol is ready for his new home.
